Although bamboo flooring is fairly water resistant, it is still at risk of water damage if excessive water is allowed to soak into the planks of flooring.  Water damage can cause the bamboo to warp, distort and become discoloured.

Water damage to your bamboo flooring can be prevented by:

• Wiping away spills immediately

• Asking people to remove any wet footwear before walking on the floor

How to resolve water damage once it has happened

If your bamboo floor already has signs of water damage then there is little that can be done, other than to remove the flooring, ensure your subfloor is dry and the install new bamboo flooring.
