Rustic Bamboo Flooring

Rustic bamboo flooring is a fantastic product that can really change the feel and ambience of a room.  It looks quite different from standard bamboo flooring and is sure to add a wow factor to your home.

What is rustic bamboo flooring?

It is flooring that has had black streaks intentionally added to the surface of each plank.  It gives a uniquely rustic appearance.  The actual bamboo flooring is made from strand woven bamboo This is one of the hardest natural floor coverings.  For some comparison it is over twice as hard as Oak flooring.

Our rustic bamboo flooring has been carbonised to give it a rich coffee brown colour, before the black streaks are added.  The surface of each plank has then been protected with a Bona Matt Anti-Slip Lacquer. This means that it is fully protected and ready to use as soon as it has been installed. Each plank has a click fit system, which makes installation quick and easy.  There is no need for glue or nails, you can simply float the bamboo over an underlay.

Where can I use it in my home?

Rustic bamboo flooring is very versatile and can be used in most rooms in your home. As it is made from strand woven bamboo it is very durable and can withstand daily footfall associated with busy areas like hallways and living areas.  It is also a perfect choice for bedrooms, nurseries and home offices as it gives a clean and fresh appearance and is really easy to keep clean.

If you wanted to clad your staircase with rustic bamboo flooring then you would just need to use the matching rustic stair nosing to complete the look. Finally, the flooring is compatible with underfloor heating systems. It can also be used in rooms where temperature fluctuate significantly like conservatories or orangeries.  In fact, the only room we would not recommend for it to be used is a bathroom or any area with excess water.  If you are still unsure and would like more advice, give us a call and we’ll be happy to help.
