The main difference between the two floors is the way that they look. Horizontal bamboo flooring has a wider grain pattern, with visible knots and characteristics of bamboo. Alternatively, vertical bamboo flooring has a narrow and streamlines grain pattern, which is very distinctive and unique. These differences are due to the way that each floor has been constructed. Horizontal bamboo has been made from strips of bamboo bonded together horizontally, whereas vertical bamboo has strips bonded together vertically. Here is a closer look:
