We would recommend sweeping your bamboo floor every day, but not necessarily cleaning it. Sweeping and cleaning are two very different tasks. Sweeping removes the dust and debris from the surface of the floor, whereas cleaning will remove any stubborn stains or marks.
Sweeping every day is an essential part of keeping the floor clean and dirt free. This is really important in order to prevent dents and scratches to your floor. If you allow dust, dirt, grit or pet hair to build up, not only does it look terrible, but it also means you are walking on top of it. This, in turn, could scratch your floor. Even the tiniest piece of grit or stone could dent your floor or cause quite a deep scratch.
Once you have swept your floor, you can then decide whether or not to clean it with a wooden floor cleaning solution, which will refresh and bring back the shine to the surface.
When should I clean my bamboo floor?
We would recommend cleaning your floor at least once a week. This will, of course, depend on how busy the area is. If your bamboo floor is in a really busy area of your home, like a hallway, kitchen or living room, then you may want to consider cleaning it more often. However, if the floor is in a quieter room, like a bedroom or area that isn’t continually used, you could leave it longer than a week. You should be able to judge when your bamboo requires cleaning. It will start to lack sheen and look quite dull and patchy. A quick clean with a Bona Spray Mop, will revive its lustre!
