Solid bamboo flooring is made from thin strips of bamboo which have been dried and stuck together. The strips of bamboo are glued together either horizontally or vertically (to form different types of bamboo flooring) and are then compressed under heat and pressure to form the planks of flooring.

What is the difference between horizontal and vertical bamboo flooring - feature

By constructing the planks this way, it gives the flooring great stability, durability and provides a versatile floor covering.  Solid bamboo flooring planks are usually available with a tongue and groove fitting system and are fixed widths and lengths – 96mm x 960mm. Because solid bamboo flooring is dimensionally stable it has the following benefits:

• it can be installed over any type of subfloor (which has been properly prepared)

• it can be fixed in position or loose laid

• it can be fitted in areas where humidity and temperature fluctuate, such as kitchens and conservatories
