Bamboo floors are durable and more water resistant than hardwood floors, but they are not waterproof so it is not recommended that they are installed in bathrooms or other areas with excess moisture and water. You may also find that the warranty is void if you do choose to install bamboo flooring in your bathroom.
If spillages or water are wiped away straight away then there should not be any damage to your bamboo floor. If however, large amounts of liquids or water are left to soak into and penetrate your floor over a period of time, then severe and irreparable water damage can occur. Water damage to your bamboo flooring is easy to identify as the planks of flooring may start to discolour, warp, distort and raise up. The ends of planks that have been cut can also go mouldy where water has soaked into the floor where the protective layer of lacquer has been cut. Unfortunately there is no simple way to repair a water damaged bamboo floor and often the only solution is the take up the flooring and replace.
