Modernised Detached House using Solid Carbonised Vertical Bamboo Flooring for the Ground Floor Rooms

Paul and Lisa moved into their new home last year and wanted to undertake some renovation work.  They knocked walls down to create a large open plan kitchen, dining room and living space.  While looking for flooring for this room, they also decided to replace old carpets in other areas of the home to give it a modern and fresh look. Paul and Lisa were looking for new flooring for the new open plan area, plus their hallway and office.  This amounted to over 50m² of new flooring.  When deciding on a flooring option they looked at solid wood, engineered wood and luxury vinyl tile, but nothing felt quite right.

They knew they wanted “something different to normal ‘wood flooring’ and hard wearing” so decided to order some samples of bamboo flooring. Lisa ordered a few samples to compare the colour and grain patterns at home.  They then decided on solid carbonised vertical bamboo flooring.

Vertical bamboo flooring has a really interesting grain pattern.  The bamboo strips are placed together vertically which creates a narrow grain look.  On this particular type of bamboo floor, the bamboo strips have also been carbonised (smoked).  This gives the planks of flooring a warm brown colour.

The carbonised vertical bamboo flooring looks great, running throughout Paul and Lisa’s newly modernised home. We love the way that they have continuity through the hallway and into the open plan living, dining and kitchen area. Paul and Lisa are very happy with the flooring they have chosen.  They felt that the staff here at The Bamboo Flooring Company kept them up to date with their order and delivery process.  They would also be very happy to recommend the flooring to friends and family.

The bamboo flooring looks amazing, both through the hall/living areas and in the kitchen. It feels very warm underfoot and gets commented on by anyone visiting. It is easy to maintain and The Bamboo Flooring Company have been really helpful with communicating about stock levels when ordering and then returning the excess without any hassle.”
