Caring for your bamboo floor can be straightforward and easy. As with any new floor, you will want to look after it properly to make sure it stays looking fresh and new for years to come. There are two main things that you will need to do to care for your new bamboo floor:

Secondly, you should protect your bamboo floor from damage.

Tips on cleaning your bamboo floor
• Adopt a simple but regular cleaning routine. We would recommend sweeping on a daily basis, followed by cleaning on a weekly basis. Obviously do this more often if needed.
• Use a soft bristle brush to sweep away dust, dirt and crumbs. If you want to use a vacuum cleaner, make sure it has an attachment for wooden floors.
• Always use a pH neutral wooden floor cleaner. This will be gentle but effective at cleaning. We think the Bona Spray Mop is ideal!
• If you choose to use a mop and bucket, then make sure the mop is fully wrung out and no water is left to soak into the bamboo.
• Never use a steam mop as this can damage your bamboo floor.
• Don’t use any cleaning products that are harsh, abrasive, or acidic.
Tips on protecting your floor from damage
• Ask people to remove their outdoor footwear before walking on your bamboo floor. This will not only help to protect it, but also keep it clean.
• Consider using doormats at all entrance doors.
• Apply felt protector pads to the bottom of furniture. Especially for items that move around like dining chairs. The felt will provide a cushioned layer between the furniture and your new floor.
• Try not to drag or drop heavy items on your bamboo floor, it could dent or scratch the surface.
• Wipe away any spills or liquids you notice on your bamboo floor. If it is left to soak in, it could cause irreparable damage.
