Timber Framed Swedish Home with Solid Carbonised Horizontal Bamboo Flooring on the Ground Floor
Wendy and Jim were looking for a natural and easy to maintain floor to replace carpet and tiles on the ground floor of their home. They were looking for a new floor for their entrance hall, kitchen, lounge and dining room. Their property is a timber framed, four bedroomed detached house, imported from Sweden. They have lived there for over 35 years, since it was new.
While deciding on their new flooring choice they explored a few other options, including different kinds of wood, laminates and vinyl, but Wendy and Jim felt that “nothing looked as good to us as the bamboo flooring.” They already had bamboo flooring in another room and felt that the continuity of flooring throughout would complement their beautiful home. They loved that bamboo is a natural material with a beautiful appearance and also has sustainable and eco-friendly properties.
Wendy ordered some samples of bamboo flooring to help them tomake a more informed choice. After looking at the flooring samples in the comfort of their home, they decided that Solid Carbonised Horizontal Bamboo would best suit their requirements. They were using almost 60m² of this particular bamboo floor in multiple rooms so decided to also use matching carbonised horizontal bamboo door bars, to add the finishing touches to the rooms. They used L.C. Flooring Contractors to fit their floors and flooring accessories.
Wendy and Jim are extremely pleased with the way that the bamboo floor complements their existing décor, furnishings and the style of their home. Carbonised Horizontal Bamboo acquires its warm brown colour from being smoked during the manufacturing process. The colour adds character and runs naturally throughout the planks of flooring, which are then finished with a satin matt lacquer to give a slight sheen to the surface.
