How to store bamboo flooring
The bamboo flooring should be stored in a warm dry environment. Do not store your bamboo floor in a garage, shed or outdoors. Firstly, the condition in the room must be correct. All wet trades (plastering, screed and painting) should be finished and the room needs to be weather tight and dry. You should check the relative humidity of the room, which needs to be between 45 – 65%. The ambient temperature of the room should be between 17 - 22°C. Secondly, the planks of flooring should be left in the original boxes and stored flat. Never leave the boxes upright or lean then against a wall, as this can distort the shape of the planks. How to acclimatise bamboo flooring
Bamboo flooring needs acclimatising to its surroundings before it is installed. This is to allow the bamboo to adapt to its new atmosphere. The boxes of flooring should be left in the room where it is going to be installed for at least 48 hours before installation. If you have underfloor heating in the room, make sure that the boxes of flooring are raised off the subfloor slightly. You can use wooden blocks or batons to do this.
