Distressed bamboo is a range of flooring which has a textured or distressed feel to the surface of the planks. This process happens during the manufacturing stage.  The planks of flooring have been intentionally distressed, to give a more rustic and natural appearance. Furthermore, a matt lacquer is added to the surface to protect it from daily wear and tear.
