Cleaning your bamboo floor is quick, easy and straight forward. It is one of the most hygienic types of flooring that you can have, and you will want to keep it looking fresh and new as the months and years go by.
Here are some simple steps to follow to clean your bamboo floor:
1. Sweep away dust and dirt regularly.
As bamboo is a hard floor, you will see any dust, dirt or grit on the surface, so it is easy to sweep up. We would recommend sweeping once a day, or as often as you feel necessary. This will not only help your bamboo floor to stay looking clean and fresh, but it will also help to prevent the surface from becoming scratched or damaged. If you allow a build-up of dirt, this will inevitably get walked on and could make dents or scratches on your bamboo.
2. Wipe away any spills straight away.
Bamboo is fairly robust and resilient, but if water (or any other liquid) is left on the surface for a long time, it will soak into the bamboo and could cause damage like discoloration or warping. As soon as you notice a spill, simply wipe it away with a soft cloth, tissue or napkin. The same goes for any food that may get spilt on your bamboo floor; try to clear it away immediately, before it stains the surface of your bamboo.
3. Clean your bamboo with a pH neutral cleaning solution.
Using a pH neutral cleaning solution will ensure that your bamboo is cleaned thoroughly, whilst being gentle to the surface. It is also advisable to use a micro-fibre mop, which helps with the cleaning process. To get best results we would recommend using the all in one Bona Spray Mop. It has a refillable cleaning solution, spray handle, ergonomic design and a removable microfiber cleaning pad.
