Solid Bamboo Flooring

Solid bamboo flooring is made from strips of bamboo that are laid in either a horizontal or vertical formation. The strips of bamboo are glued together to create the planks of flooring with either a thin grain pattern (vertical) or a wider grain pattern (horizontal). By constructing the planks of flooring in this way the stability of the boards is comparable to an engineered hardwood or engineered bamboo. This means that solid bamboo flooring is versatile and can be laid over almost any subfloor and can be floated over an underlay or fixed into position if you would prefer. To find out more about Horizontal and vertical planks of bamboo, please read our article, What is the difference between horizontal and vertical bamboo flooring.

Why should I choose solid bamboo flooring?

Solid bamboo flooring is a great alternative to traditional hardwood flooring if you are looking for something slightly different. Horizontal and vertical bamboo has very different grain patterns so be sure to choose carefully as they create two completely different styles.

Our solid bamboo flooring is available in two colours; natural and carbonised.  Natural bamboo has the natural golden and pale yellow tones of bamboo, whereas carbonised bamboo has been smoked during the manufacturing process which gives it a richer coffee brown colour.

Solid bamboo flooring is easy to install, easy to look after and can last for decades if cared for properly.

If you would like to find out more information about solid bamboo flooring, our Guide to Bamboo Flooring explains the structure, profile types and colours of the planks of bamboo flooring in more depth, and our Guide to Solid Horizontal and Vertical Bamboo Flooring may help to answer any further questions you may have.

How do I install solid bamboo flooring?

As already mentioned, solid bamboo flooring is very stable and versatile so it can be either floated over an underlay or glued directly down to the subfloor using a flexible flooring adhesive. All of our solid bamboo flooring comes with a tongue and groove fitting profile. This means that during installation you will need to glue the tongue and groove joints together to create a tight and secure fit.

How do I look after solid bamboo flooring?

Bamboo flooring is extremely easy to look after.
