Construction - Strand Woven Bamboo
10mm thick board made up of strands of bamboo crushed together with a resin using a cold press (2x harder than Horizontal & Vertical bamboo flooring)
Colour - Antique Taupe
The colour is created by staining the surface with a Taupe coloured stain. The deep, brown rich tones of the Carbonised Strand Woven bamboo will be found underneath if the surface is removed and sanded deep enough.
Finish - Bona Anti-Slip Matt Lacquer + Distressed Features
Distressed surface features with a Antique Taupe stain applied. Pre-finished with Matt Bona Naturale Anti-Slip lacquer, Inc UV protection. The Anti-Slip, matt finish provides an almost oiled natural look to the surface and is great for high traffic areas such as hallways and kitchens. The lacquered finish adds additional strength and protection to the bamboo whilst the distressed surface adds character and charm. This flooring is ready to use once installation is complete.
Profile Type - Uniclic®
The click fitting system means the boards can be clicked together to provide straight forward installation without the need for glue. The planks of flooring have one long side and one short side with the click system featured on all four sides. The click system fits together creating a snug and secure fit once installed.
Installation method - Float over an underlay (Click)
Floating a floor over an underlay means that the planks of flooring are attached together by the click fitting system, but they are not fixed directly down to the subfloor; instead they float over a layer of underlay. There are various types of underlay including thermal barriers and sound reducing underlays. This method is also compatible with underfloor heating.
OR
Installation method - Direct Glue Down
By gluing your bamboo floor directly down to the subfloor you will create a full surface bond between the existing floor and your new bamboo floor. You will need to use a flexible flooring adhesive to allow for natural movements with changes in temperature and humidity. Either solid or engineered bamboo flooring can be glued to the subfloor.
Acclimatisation
Your bamboo flooring will need to acclimatise to its surroundings before it can be installed. Bamboo flooring should be left for at least 2-3 days. It should be left in the room where it is going to be installed, which should be dry (no new drying plaster or concrete), heated to between 18 to 24° C and with a relative humidity of the atmosphere between 45-60%.
Maintenance & Aftercare
All types of bamboo floors are easy to look after and maintain. Simply sweep on a daily basis with a soft bristle brush to remove any dirt or dust, and then clean on a weekly basis (more often if needed) using a microfibre mop and wooden floor cleaning spray. To prevent any unwanted dents or damage to your hardwood, remember to remove outdoor footwear, use felt protector pads on the bottom of furniture, wipe away spills immediately and never drag heavy or sharp object across the floor. This will ensure that you floor keeps looking at its best for as long as possible.
